A Cairo Qur’an edition becomes influential
1924 CE
The Egyptian Amiri edition offered a carefully prepared printed Qur’an that influenced later editions in several countries. Its printing choices belonged to an established history of textual scholarship. Other regional printing and reading traditions continued, so this edition should not be treated as universally exclusive.
Why it matters
The milestone distinguishes modern print standardization from ancient composition and helps readers understand why visually similar Qur’ans can still embody different editorial and reading conventions.
