iti10:1.1This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
iti10:2.1“Mendicants, without directly knowing and completely understanding hate, without dispassion for it and giving it up, you can’t end suffering.
iti10:2.2By directly knowing and completely understanding hate, having dispassion for it and giving it up, you can end suffering.”
iti10:2.3The Buddha spoke this matter.
iti10:2.4On this it is said:
iti10:3.1“When overcome by hate
iti10:3.2beings go to a bad place.
iti10:3.3Having rightly understood that hate,
iti10:3.4the discerning give it up.
iti10:3.5Once they’ve given it up,
iti10:3.6they never return to this world.”
iti10:4.1This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
