iti59:1.1This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
iti59:2.1“Mendicants, a mendicant with three qualities has slipped free of Māra’s dominion and dazzles like the sun.
iti59:2.2What three?
iti59:2.3It’s when they have the entire spectrum of the adept’s ethics, immersion, and wisdom.
iti59:2.4A mendicant with these three qualities has slipped free of Māra’s dominion and dazzles like the sun.”
iti59:2.5The Buddha spoke this matter.
iti59:2.6On this it is said:
iti59:3.1“Whoever has well developed
iti59:3.2ethics, immersion, and wisdom
iti59:3.3has slipped free of Māra’s dominion
iti59:3.4and dazzles like the sun.”
iti59:4.1This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
