iti73:0.1So It Was Said 73

iti73:0.2The Book of the Threes

iti73:0.3Chapter Three

iti73:0.4More Peaceful

iti73:1.1This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.

iti73:2.1“Mendicants, formless states are more peaceful than states of form; cessation is more peaceful than formless states.”

iti73:2.2The Buddha spoke this matter.

iti73:2.3On this it is said:

iti73:3.1“There are beings in the realm of luminous form,

iti73:3.2and others stuck in the formless.

iti73:3.3Not understanding cessation,

iti73:3.4they return in future lives.

iti73:4.1But the people who completely understand form,

iti73:4.2not stuck in the formless,

iti73:4.3released in cessation—

iti73:4.4they are conquerors of death.

iti73:5.1Having directly experienced the element free of death,

iti73:5.2free of attachments;

iti73:5.3having realized relinquishment

iti73:5.4of attachments, the undefiled

iti73:5.5fully awakened Buddha teaches

iti73:5.6the sorrowless, stainless state.”

iti73:6.1This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
