ud5.7:0.2With Revata the Doubter
ud5.7:1.1So I have heard.
ud5.7:1.2At one time the Buddha was staying near Sāvatthī in Jeta’s Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika’s monastery.
ud5.7:1.3Now at that time Venerable Revata the Doubter was sitting not far from the Buddha, cross-legged, with his body straight, reviewing his own purification by traversing doubt.
ud5.7:2.1The Buddha saw him meditating there.
ud5.7:3.1Then, understanding this matter, on that occasion the Buddha expressed this heartfelt sentiment:
ud5.7:4.1“Any doubts about this life or the next,
ud5.7:4.2about one’s own experiences or those of another:
ud5.7:4.3those who meditate give them all up,
ud5.7:4.4keenly practicing the spiritual life.”
