ud5.9:1.1So I have heard.
ud5.9:1.2At one time the Buddha was wandering in the land of the Kosalans together with a large Saṅgha of mendicants.
ud5.9:1.3Now at that time several young students were passing by not far from the Buddha in a teasing manner.
ud5.9:1.4The Buddha saw them.
ud5.9:2.1Then, understanding this matter, on that occasion the Buddha expressed this heartfelt sentiment:
ud5.9:3.1“Dolts pretending to be astute,
ud5.9:3.2they talk, their words out of bounds.
ud5.9:3.3They blab at will, their mouths agape,
ud5.9:3.4and no one knows what leads them on.”
