iti14:0.4The Shroud of Ignorance

iti14:1.1This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.

iti14:2.1“Mendicants, I do not see a single shroud, shrouded by which people wander and transmigrate for a long time like the shroud of ignorance.

iti14:2.2Shrouded by ignorance, people wander and transmigrate for a long time.”

iti14:2.3The Buddha spoke this matter.

iti14:2.4On this it is said:

iti14:3.1“There is no other thing

iti14:3.2that shrouds people like ignorance.

iti14:3.3Veiled by delusion,

iti14:3.4they transmigrate day and night.

iti14:4.1Those who have given up delusion,

iti14:4.2shattering the mass of darkness,

iti14:4.3wander no more,

iti14:4.4the root is not found in them.”

iti14:5.1This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
