iti2:1.1This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
iti2:2.1“Mendicants, give up one thing
iti2:2.2and I guarantee you non-return.
iti2:2.3What one thing?
iti2:2.4Hate is the one thing. Give it up,
iti2:2.5and I guarantee you non-return.”
iti2:2.6The Buddha spoke this matter.
iti2:2.7On this it is said:
iti2:3.1“When overcome by hate
iti2:3.2beings go to a bad place.
iti2:3.3Having rightly understood that hate,
iti2:3.4the discerning give it up.
iti2:3.5Once they’ve given it up,
iti2:3.6they never return to this world.”
iti2:4.1This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
