iti4:1.1This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
iti4:2.1“Mendicants, give up one thing
iti4:2.2and I guarantee you non-return.
iti4:2.3What one thing?
iti4:2.4Anger is the one thing. Give it up,
iti4:2.5and I guarantee you non-return.”
iti4:2.6The Buddha spoke this matter.
iti4:2.7On this it is said:
iti4:3.1“When overcome by anger
iti4:3.2beings go to a bad place.
iti4:3.3Having rightly understood that anger,
iti4:3.4the discerning give it up.
iti4:3.5Once they’ve given it up,
iti4:3.6they never return to this world.”
iti4:4.1This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
