iti50:2.1“Mendicants, there are these three unskillful roots.
iti50:2.2What three?
iti50:2.3Greed, hate, and delusion.
iti50:2.4These are the three unskillful roots.”
iti50:2.5The Buddha spoke this matter.
iti50:2.6On this it is said:
iti50:3.1“When greed, hate, and delusion,
iti50:3.2have arisen inside oneself,
iti50:3.3they harm a person of wicked heart,
iti50:3.4as a bamboo is destroyed by its own fruit.”
iti50:4.1This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
