iti6:1.1This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
iti6:2.1“Mendicants, give up one thing
iti6:2.2and I guarantee you non-return.
iti6:2.3What one thing?
iti6:2.4Conceit is the one thing. Give it up,
iti6:2.5and I guarantee you non-return.”
iti6:2.6The Buddha spoke this matter.
iti6:2.7On this it is said:
iti6:3.1“Drunk on conceit,
iti6:3.2beings go to a bad place.
iti6:3.3Having rightly understood that conceit,
iti6:3.4the discerning give it up.
iti6:3.5Once they’ve given it up,
iti6:3.6they never return to this world.”
iti6:4.1This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
