iti70:0.2The Book of the Threes

iti70:0.3Chapter Three

iti70:0.4Having Wrong View

iti70:1.1This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.

iti70:2.1“Mendicants, I’ve seen beings who engaged in misconduct by body, speech, and mind, who denounced the noble ones, who had wrong views and acted accordingly.

iti70:2.2At the breaking up of the body, after death, they were reborn in a place of loss, a bad place, the underworld, hell.

iti70:3.1Now, I don’t say this because I’ve heard it from some other ascetic or brahmin.

iti70:3.4I only say it because I’ve known, seen, and realized it for myself.”

iti70:4.3The Buddha spoke this matter.

iti70:4.4On this it is said:

iti70:5.1“When the mind has been misdirected,

iti70:5.2and words wrongly spoken,

iti70:5.3and wrong bodily deeds have been done,

iti70:5.4an individual here

iti70:6.1unlearned, doer of bad deeds,

iti70:6.2though their life may be short,

iti70:6.3when their body breaks up, that witless person

iti70:6.4is reborn in hell.”

iti70:7.1This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
