iti71:0.1So It Was Said 71

iti71:0.2The Book of the Threes

iti71:0.3Chapter Three

iti71:0.4Having Right View

iti71:1.1This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.

iti71:2.1“Mendicants, I’ve seen beings who engaged in good conduct of body, speech, and mind, who did not denounce the noble ones, who held right view and acted accordingly.

iti71:2.2At the breaking up of the body, after death, they were reborn in a good destination, a heavenly realm.

iti71:3.1Now, I don’t say this because I’ve heard it from some other ascetic or brahmin.

iti71:3.4I only say it because I’ve known, seen, and realized it for myself.”

iti71:4.3The Buddha spoke this matter.

iti71:4.4On this it is said:

iti71:5.1“When the mind has been directed right,

iti71:5.2and words rightly spoken,

iti71:5.3and right bodily deeds have been done,

iti71:5.4an individual here

iti71:6.1learned, doer of good deeds,

iti71:6.2though their life may be short,

iti71:6.3when their body breaks up, that wise person

iti71:6.4is reborn in heaven.”

iti71:7.1This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
