iti19:0.1So It Was Said 19

iti19:0.2The Book of the Ones

iti19:0.3Chapter Two

iti19:0.4Harmony in the Saṅgha

iti19:1.1This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.

iti19:2.1“One thing, mendicants, arises in the world for the welfare and happiness of the people, for the people, for the benefit, welfare, and happiness of gods and humans.

iti19:2.2What one thing?

iti19:2.3Harmony in the Saṅgha.

iti19:2.4When the Saṅgha is in harmony, they don’t argue, insult, block, or forsake each other.

iti19:2.5This inspires confidence in those without it, and increases confidence in those who have it.”

iti19:2.6The Buddha spoke this matter.

iti19:2.7On this it is said:

iti19:3.1“A Saṅgha in harmony is happy,

iti19:3.2as is support for those in harmony.

iti19:3.3Taking a stand on the teaching,

iti19:3.4favoring harmony, they ruin no sanctuary.

iti19:3.5After creating harmony in the Saṅgha,

iti19:3.6they rejoice in heaven for an eon.”

iti19:4.1This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
